Let`s Brunch Colombo

With the curiosity of choosing a place to brunch on a sunny Saturday morning like today, we thought to go with “LET'S BRUNCH" in Colombo which has a soothing sea breeze facing the sea side of marine drive. As you climb up the wooden stairway you would never expect this place to be a café which has a calm & soothing ambience and also a pop culture vibe. Reached there at about 10.45 am and we managed to get a table for two by the right end of the café surrounded by the lovely sea view. Firstly, as we entered, we were fascinated by the table mats which were used by them. The plain white sheets which were printed with different flower patterns or pictures for the guest to colour, was a really good prospect for us to bring out the inner kid within our soul. Not to forget about the wall, which was filled with pop cultured eye-catching pictures that would make any guest fill their photo gallery with. After getting approached by the friendly staff, we had our hands on the menu which varied from a range of mains, sides and drinks. It really took us sometime to decide on what to choose out of the range they had. Our selection out of the mains listed on the menu was; ‘The Full English’ which was a mouth - watering classic mini platter comprising the main international breakfast elements which were 2 bullseye eggs, baked beans, bacon strips, steaklet served with sautéed mushrooms and tomatoes along with butter toast. This dish was beyond expectations Moving on to the next selection which was the choice of sides which included French fries, BBQ Chicken Wings, Mac & Cheese balls and Baked Beans. Our selection from this range was; BBQ Chicken Wings - which was amazingly dipped with BBQ sauce and sprinkled with chopped parsley was a super delicious side. Also, the portion was sufficient for two. Their choice of drinks vary from smoothies, juices, mocktails, coffee & tea. Our selection from this range was; ‘Juice the Tango’ - a mix of orange, pineapple and mint Which was an amazing mixture of fruits and was really a good choice made on sunny day. Not to forget the’ Bananarama’ which fed our taste buds with a hint of milk blended with chocolates & bananas. Besides specializing in ‘Brunches’ what makes this place special and outstanding is that it would bring out the inner kid within your soul with their table mats that could be colored while waiting for your order to arrive. Also the calm & soothing ambience and the staff who were really friendly and courteous makes this café a place that you would love to come back. The price range for two people would be Rs 1500 – 3000. ‘Let’s Brunch’ is open only on weekends from 10.30am – 2.30pm. As we were really curious about the timing and the specific days they’re opened on, we inquired about it. As to the answer we got, their main objective is to serve the ‘young’ crowd and as most of the young food lovers are free on weekends more than weekdays they’ve decided to have the ‘Let’s Brunch’ café only on weekends but the ‘Fat Crab’ restaurant which is a part of their café is open on weekdays as well as on weekends. As we tread along the high streets of Colombo, we found ‘Let’s Brunch’ to be one of the places that we would definitely come back to! We’ll keep you posted the next time we come across a place as such. Till next time, Cheers! -Team KP-
